A Glimpse Into Hawaii's Royal Connection
The museum’s atmosphere is inspired by the journey of King Kalākaua, Hawaii’s beloved “Merrie Monarch,” who traveled the world in 1881 and visited Queen Victoria in London.
During his travels, King Kalākaua experienced the elegant salons, curiosity collections, and magical performances that captivated Victorian society. The Museum of Curiosities & Oddities brings a touch of that world to Waikiki, blending Hawaiian history with the wonder and mystery of a bygone era.
